RF POWER PILL -- PP60**** UPDATE**** Now Is The Time To Bring Our Great Sport Into The New Millenia ,And To Do So Requires A New Source Of Power. THE “RF POWER PILLS” ARE HERE !!!!!! The PP60 RF Transistor Is A Ruggedized Military Type Silicon NPN RF Power Transistor It Is Designed For High Frequency RF Use Covering 2 ~ 30MHz AM/FM/SSB Linear Power Amplifier Applications It's Made With The Highest Quality Ceramic Package And With Gold Metallization Throughout The Package The PP60 Is Conservatively Rated At 60w PEP@13.8vdc One Of The Greatest Things About This New Tramsistor Is, That In Most Properly Designed Circuits, These Transistors Are A Direct Drop-In Replacement For The sd1446 Although Some Circuits May Need To Be Slightly Tweaked. The Typical Drive Levels For This Transistor Are As Follows; !!!!! PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, THESE ARE SAFE RATINGS, NOY MAX RATINGS !!!! 1w-2w Carrier Power Input Per Transistor 10w-15w PEP Swing Input Per Transistor This Will Vary From Amp To Amp The Good Rule Of Thumb Is To Set The MAX OUTPUT FROM AMP PER TRANSISTOR (NOT INPUT DRIVE) At 15w Dead Key Carrier PER TRANSISTOR And Remember, That Is The POWER COMING OUT OF THE AMP WHEN KEYED. So With These Transistors, You Should Be Putting Out A MAX DEAD KEY FROM THE AMP of 2 Transistors Times 15w = 30W Dead Key OUTPUT FROM AMP 4 Transistors Times 15w = 60W Dead Key OUTPUT FROM AMP 6 Transistors Times 15W = 90W Dead Key OUTPUT FROM AMP And So On And So On Now That Is The Recommended MAX Dead Key Output, Less Will Not Hurt, But More May Be Putting Yourself Into The Danger Zone These Transistors Have Been Tested @17vdc At The Collector, But We Recommend A Max Of 15.5vdc There Are NO Returns On ANY Transistors At All Once They Are Removed From The Original Package And There Is No Warranty On Transistors So Please, If You Do Not Feel Comfortable Replacing Transistors On Your Own, Seek Out Someone Who Is, Because Once You Take Them Out Of The Sealed Package, They’re Yours.
